MAINTAINING RELATIONSHIPS

Family is not just a word which describes a union of many relationships, but it specifies the love and closeness between people. For me my family means a lot. After my marriage my family expanded and thats a very blessed thing that has happened to me. After marriage you are more likely to stay away from your parents and in-laws, but that doesnot mean that you stop caring about your loved ones who were once with you.Even the same love can prevail while staying away from them.A healthy way of keepng your relations with your loved ones alive even after marriage is by loving and respecting ur spouses' relatives so that u get the same response from the other side and this also increases the love between you and your spouse. As the saying goes GIVE RESPECT AND TAKE RESPECT.LOVE AND BE LOVED.

The Prophet Muhammad(peace be upon Him) always gave importance to his ties with his kinsmen.Al-Bukhari reported on the authority of Abu Hurairah, who quote the Prophet, peace n blessings be upon him, as saying: "Allah created His creation, and when He had finished it, the womb (referring to ties of kinship) got up and caught hold of Allah whereupon Allah said, "What is the matter?' On that, it said, 'I seek refuge with you from those who sever the ties of kith and kin.' On that Allah said, 'Will you be satisfied if I bestow My favors on him who keeps your ties, and withhold My favors from him who severs your ties?' On that it said, 'Yes, O my Lord!' Then Allah said, 'That is for you'. " Abu Huraira added: If you wish, you can recite: "Would you then if you were given the authority. do mischief in the land and sever your ties of kinship.” (Muhammad: 22-23)
The Prophet, peace be blessings be upon him, said: “Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should maintain good relation with his kindred.” (Reported by al-Bukhari and Muslim)
Islam has always believed in maintaining good relations and a strong society based on love , co-operation, and sympathy.

Unfortunatey many people have neglected this right and its our responsibility to hold fast to the rope of ALLAH to save ourselves from the many uncertainities that are likely to occur if our society is not strong enough to favor this social and moral obligation.
